Low Back Pain

Today, I want to give you a quick overview of what chiropractors actually do. Contrary to popular opinion, we do not ‘crack your bones.” There is absolutely no cracking involved in my practice! That “cracking” or “popping” noise commonly associated with a chiropractic adjustment- which is a gentle manipulation that does not cause pain – is the sound of a mixture of gas and air escaping from between the vertebrae when the spine is repositioned into proper alignment.
Misalignments, which can occur with any one of the vertebrae of the spine or any of the bones of the pelvis, are called subluxations. Subluxations often occur during the birthing process (which is why I highly recommend parents start their children on a regime of chiropractic in infancy!) or as the result of physical accidents, chemical reactions, or emotional stress from everyday life. While people most commonly associate chiropractic care with back pain, subluxations interfere with the central nervous system, and as a result impact every area of your health – from allergies and headaches to chronic health conditions and even developmental delays!
Your nervous system controls every cell, organ, tissue and system of your body, and your spine is the structure that supports it. If something is out of alignment, your body can’t get the proper signals it needs to keep itself healthy. To keep your body functioning at peek performance you need to keep you spine in line!
My job as your chiropractor is to ensure that your spinal alignment is in top form, so that you can live life to your fullest and healthiest. If you haven’t had a consultation, call me for one today. You owe it to yourself. After all, you are worth it.
Until next time,
Dr. Sarah
